  1. That sounds a lot of work. I shall certainly take advantage of the revamp. Thanks for all your efforts.

I hope Ida and Alex and the cruise is/are progressing well and you are managing to stay free of the various lurgies circulating at the moment.

    1. it's not as unweildy as a paperback with the names in lists rather than in tables, and they don't go on as many pages. I also got a heap of info on the late Frankish period.

it's a bit slow, because I need to research places at the period when they get to them [when did the Spanish civil war start? when did Mussolini seize power in Italy - Italy held Tunisia - when did excavations in Carthage start? when is bull-fighting season in Barcelona? is Antoni Gaudi still alive? what tanks does Spain have, and what on earth does a Renault FT look like, and is it a credible elephant as a float in a carnival? I wrote through the French part on the Blue Train fairly quickly, other than time checking for when it was where, because my knowledge base is mostly fairly solid, but around the med until I get to Howard Carter I'm on less solid ground. As well as needing to present poor Alex with a busman's holiday.
