cobra cover
meantime my editor's computer is hors de combat so I am waiting on that being fixed before I can publish any more...
It was! You mentioned the eyes being less scary - upon a third and fourth look, I realized that the reason they look odd is that the pupils are barely there given the angle he's looking at, there's mostly whites. The effect upon first glance is that maybe he has cataracts? A third and fourth look show what's going on, but it threw me at first. He is, however, a very handsome assassin lol. - Naomi
I wanted the impression that his eyes flick sideways and around to keep situational awareness, and not get caught offguard... that the reader is a trusted person and not needing to be stared at. Dexter looks directly out, and also up from under hooded lids, and it makes it unnerving. It also hints at a disturbed if not downright abused childhood.
I got the situational awareness; you just have to look closely in order to see that he's not got glowing eyes. I like that the sideways flick indicates that the reader is a trusted person. - Naomi
Ooooo!

with cyber eyes available, however, it's not necessarily a bad thing to have to check that he's wearing his natural eyes.
DeleteHeh. True enough.
