Heart of Winter published
I had some trouble at first with this, the web site went down under the load of traffic owing to the rise in PB prices.
thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it, I am sure you spotted the additions of more of Kitty from the draft - one of the things I had to do with proofing was to pull that together so as not to get continuity problems, and so I am glad to hear that you enjoyed, because that suggests I ironed out all the problems to make it seamless! I'm always glad to hear that when something has been pulled over rather.
I'm currently re-reading some of my long-term favourite books, by Dinah Dean, which have just been issued on Kindle, when I've finished the series, I'll get this one. I have read the last book you issued, I couldn't really remember the first of the stories, but the second was more familiar to me. Might have been on your blogspot in my busy work months. Good to re-read them. Many thanks, Sarah. Barbara
I hope you will enjoy! I've been revamping the first Falconburg book which I'll put up free for a few days when I've finished book 3. I am wrestling slowly with it.
Hi! yes, I'm good, and the wrestling paid off and it's going smoother for taking two days out. Normally when I have block I write poetry or fanfiction, so I keep in the groove of writing, just that it doesn't matter. I've been having tremendous fun creating historical costumes for Poser, a 3D rendering program; I shall probably post a few of them for fun. I'm getting towards where I might consider posting Falconburg Ascendent; and I've managed a chapter a day for four days now, so back to a schedule.
Thank you! yes, I'm happiest when I'm writing. I wrote the first three chapters in one day and then I was shifting scenes and you know how I struggle with that!
The two Falconburg novels are favourites of mine so I'm thrilled to hear that Falconburg Ascendent might be posted daily. Mary D P.S. I really enjoyed The Heart of Winter especially the fate of the gardener.
I know where I'm going when I get there; they returned from visiting the king and dealing with his wicked cousin, and are off to see the elves, as Falk is friendly with who he had believed was the last elf, looking to take back the Falconburg lands on the way, or at least make reconaissance. I know where I'm going when I get that far, but I didn't want to make too much of a travelogue of it, nor yet skip over the travel too fast.
That sounds like a terrific story so I'm looking forward to reading it. I had assumed that the various situations that you had set up in the previous two novels would be resolved in the third but didn't think that elves would be part of that resolution so now I'm even keener to read it. Mary D
yes, the elves of the Falconburg universe are more benign, or at least, more neutral, than Simon's elves. I can envision a few spinoff stories from it. I'm messing about with Poser, meanwhile, I've been making clothes for various periods, which is why Falconburg 1 has a new cover; I got better at it.
I've just had a look at the new cover on Amazon and I like Annis' dress and her cross. I did notice that further down that page there is no link to the second novel and a heading that says Books In This Series (1 Books). I didn't know whether that is your responsibility or Amazon's though. Mary D
just wanted to check in and say hi -- friend of mine was posting photos from a medieval type fair in Poland (Krakow, maybe) and I thought of you, can't imagine why! hope you are enjoying July.
always nice to hear from any of my friends here - hehe yes, I wonder why... could it be Radom which has the historic village? I'm enjoying that I now have a builder again, and a man who can take down the eucalyptus tree which isn't the dwarf variety it was sold as and is NOT in a good, or safe, position for so large a tree.
I spotted this yesterday and so spent yesterday evening enjoyably immersed. Great book. Mary D

I'm enjoying writing which is always a good start!
DeleteI had great fun with that. And no moles were bent, folded, stapled or mutilated.
Just popping by to see how you're getting on. Mary D
ReplyDeleteI confess to having stalled. I got as far as chapter 12 which concluded a section and have have had trouble moving on.
DeleteSorry to hear that, it must be very frustrating. I hope your inspiration returns soon. Mary D

Deletebother, I need to go check that out. Amazon plainly hasn't tied them together. there's the full booklist in the back now though.
Deletethanks for the chat, I've gotten going again!!!! and Simon picked up his elves, and set off again too!!
DeleteGlad to hear that both you and Simon are surging ahead, long may it last. Mary D
Deleteit's thanks largely to you; having to discuss it made my muse wake up, and that also stimulated Simon, in discussing how very different our elves are.
