Update

Things have been a bit difficult lately; one of the little cats I reared from 4 weeks old suddenly swelled with a massive and aggressive tumour, which was so rapid in its growth that after diagnosis we were considering euthenasia but she slipped into a coma and took the decision for herself.  I'm afraid we've both slipped into deep depression, finding it hard to do much.  she was only 10.

I am making a determined effort to write, and add to the dozen chapters of Marcelina's story, which I will post soon.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear your news. That is really sad for you, and life is miserable enough at the moment. I do hope writing helps and I look forward to Marcelina’s story whenever you feel able to post.

By the way, how is The Theory and Practice of Decoding Dwarvish Beards coming along?

    1. Worrals was the sweetest little cat I have ever known, she rode around on my shoulder, and I had to sing to her at bedtime and she came running to cuddle with me. There's a big big gap in my life.

      Simon is also deeply depressed.

  2. I am so, so sorry for your loss. It is always hard, especially when so sudden & unexpected but must be more so having had her from so young & rearing her yourself. My best wishes to you & your husband. Regards Kim

    1. thank you very much.
I am writing sporadically, I want to get back to a reasonable rate before sharing Marcelina so I don't run out on you all.

    1. Many thanks. We have had many rescue cats over the years, and though we love them all and miss them when the exigencies of former suffering catches up with them, there are always the special ones who stand out. Worrals has fostered kittens in need, stayed with older, dying cats, as Ace does [he stayed with her] and come to me when I have been ill to be a warm comforting purr. when I had my near-heart attack last spring she came and pounded hard on my chest to give me heart massage. It hurts that I could not return the life-saving.

    1. there's a slight delay on publishing, it has been now edited, but I wasn't about to push my editor when her father died - it's pretty traumatic with everyone separated by this blasted Kung Flu

    4. it'll get there, I have edits to go through on a few things then hopefully another tranche can come out. I am hoping to start posting shortly; several cats have stepped up to be keyboard editors of the daily offerings. None of them can make as much mess of the keyboard as Worrals, but they do their best.
